Born in Zagreb (Croatia), Austrian citizen of Hungarian and Italian decent, he was exposed to Italian opera by his mother
at a very early age. With 10 he became chorister at
Gloucester Cathedral.
While in England he won his first competition with a Lied by Franz Schubert.
Shortly thereafter he found his vocation in music, after having
met Andras Fricsay, son of the legendary conductor Ferenc
Fricsay. Andras was his class mate in Lausanne, Switzerland.
At the age of 22 Prof. Ferdinand Grossmann brought him to the "Musik-Konservatorium" in Vienna
with the words "gengan's rüber, und sogn's i hab sie g'schickt"
(engl. "go there, and tell them I have sent you").
In his early years Grossmann had founded the Music Conservatory,
the renowned Academy Choir. He also was director of the Staatsopernchor,
working amongst others with Arturo Toscanini and Felix
Weingartner
before revitalizing the Wiener Sängerknaben.
His father however wished, that he first complete his studies in natural sciences.
This resulted in a temporary shift in his profession
and a pause in his musical career. Concerts in Austria and Germany.
In 2003 he founded Isis Concert Group (ICG) initially in support
of excelling graduates from the Music College in Mainz. Soon
however it became evident that ICG was to become a focal
